Getting A Taxi? Be Safe! Be Careful!

Of course, it makes sense to consider getting a taxi over the festive period. However, if you are considering using taxis to travel this Christmas, there are some important things to look out for:

• Official licensed vehicles will have a licence plate at the rear of the vehicle displaying an individual number and licence expiry date.
• All drivers should wear a photograph ID badge, with another on display inside the vehicle.
• In black cabs, an illuminated sign showing the vehicle licence number should be on display.
• If you flag down a private hire vehicle on the street, you will NOT be insured in the event of an accident.
• It is always a good idea to agree a fare with the driver before you set off in a private hire vehicle.
