MAYORAL-CHAIN-OF-OFFICE

The Mayor of the Town Council is elected by fellow councillors at the Annual General Meeting, which is always held in May. There are no legislative restrictions about the number of times a councillor can become the Mayor (or Chairman of the Council).

At the Annual General Meeting on 15th May 2025, the Town Council elected Cllr D J Baum as the Mayor of the Town Council for 2025/26. Councillor Dennis Baum is a Labour Councillor and represents the Stockbridge Ward. Councillor Baum will remain in office until the Annual General Meeting (scheduled for 15 May 2026).

Upon taking office, Councillor Dennis Baum said:

"I would like to show my appreciation to Cllr L Tomlinson for his outstanding effort during his time as Mayor of the Council for 2024/25".

The Mayor expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members for placing their trust in him.

He emphasised a commitment to progress, unity, and prosperity, and encouraged  

collaboration to build a bright future for the community. 

Cllr Lee Tomlinson  has been elected to serve as Deputy Mayor for the Municipal Year 2025/26
