International Women's Day 2014 --- This Saturday!

Each year, International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8. The Day celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women whilst focusing world attention on areas requiring change.

The first International Women's Day was held over a hundred years ago in 1911. This year's theme is "Inspiring Change" and majors upon challenging the status quo and inspiring positive change.

Across the world, thousands of activities have been organised to celebrate International Women's Day. In the UK alone, 314 events have been planned.
