Gaia, the touring masterpiece artwork, created by UK artist Luke Jerram, will land in St Chad’s Church on 28th January 2022 for 3 weeks.  The giant, 6m replica of the earth which slowly revolves uses detailed NASA imagery of the earth surface and provides the opportunity to see our planet, floating in three dimensions.  A specially made surround sound composition by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning Composer Dan Jones is played alongside the sculpture.

The event has been programmed in as one of the first major events as part of Knowsley’s Borough of Culture celebrations.

Public viewings are daily during the day and evening and are as follows:

Wednesdays to Saturday 11am-8pm *1/2/21 closed to public 5-8pm

Sundays 2-5pm *Church service is 11am

Monday and Tuesdays 2-8pm

There will also be some special events planned over the three-week period up until 17th February including Love your Earth Day on 9th Feb and a mass renewal of vows on 14th February to mark Valentine’s night.

If you would like to arrange a group visit, from 5 people up to a maximum number at any one time 40, please contact me with your dates and times.  We suggest a 40-minute timescale to view Gaia which will give you the opportunity for photos underneath the artworks.
