Councillor Maureen Clunan

Councillor Maureen Clunan

It is with the very deepest regret that the the Town Council announces the sad passing of Councillor Maureen Clunan. Maureen was elected in May 2011 as a councillor for the Stockbridge ward. It was Maureen's first term as an elected member.

The funeral was held on Monday 16 December at Anfield Crematorium. The chapel was packed with standing room only. The attendance at the ceremony was a testament to the high regard for Maureen from all members of the Stockbridge community.

She was described as "a community champion". In all matters, Maureen was characteristed by a personal humbleness, compassion for others and a desire to improve the quality of life for all. In the Town Council's Chamber, her contributions were always valued because they were reasoned, polite and above all, fair.

The Town Council wishes to take this opportunity to send its best wishes to Maureen's family and friends.
