STOCKBRIDGE VILLAGE ‘CAN DO’ FUND

STOCKBRIDGE VILLAGE ‘CAN DO’ FUND

The trustees of John Moores Foundation (JMF) have recognised that, as one of the most disadvantaged areas of Merseyside, the residents of Stockbridge Village will have been excessively, adversely affected by the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, historically JMF has received very few funding applications from and/or designed to benefit the area.

Following conversations with a range of individuals and agencies, JMF’s trustees have decided that, as an initial response to this situation, it will invite applications from groups based in Stockbridge Village for grants up to £1,000. These can be used help address the following key needs that have been identified as having become even greater during the pandemic. These are:

  • Health and Wellbeing, especially
    • improved mental and physical health
    • increased self-confidence
    • higher aspirations
    • reduced isolation, especially among older people

  • Environment, e.g.
    • increasing the number of people able to enjoy green spaces
    • improved public spaces
    • growing projects

  • Young People aged over 11, e.g.
    • personal development
    • inter-generational work
    • having fun

Examples of what these grants could be used for include, but are not restricted to:

  • Equipment
  • Materials
  • Room hire
  • Newsletters
  • Volunteers’ out-of-pocket expenses

In addition to the money, successful applicants will also receive support from JMF staff members to help develop project ideas and access other funding.

To apply to this fund, please first contact JMF either by phone (0151-707 6077) or email (info@johnmooresfoundation.com) with a brief description of what the groups want a grant for. You will then be sent a link to our application form, which JMF staff would be happy to complete with you.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 9.30 am on Monday 17th May with the decision on which applications have been successful being made by Friday 28th May

For larger grants, you can also apply to JMF’s main fund, although it can take several months for a decision and there is greater competition.
