Well Done to one of own Caretakers John Boyd

One of our caretakers John Boyd has been shortlisted for an award in the category of Ally of the Year in the prestigious LCR Liverpool Pride Foundation Awards. The awards are to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool 1 on the 22nd September 

 

The awards attracted 600 nominations across 12 categories and John was selected by a esteemed panel of judges for the contribution he makes as an ally supporting members of the LGBT community 

 

John writes and compiles a Facebook page called Flats to stilettos, it was originally set up to help transgender people and their families but now covers all issues across the spectrum of the LGBT community 

 

John can often be seen at Pride marches across the country, he has traveled as far as Edinburgh to help raise awareness, he also attends socials and church events and reports on these activities in his own witty style 

 

John feels very humbled to have been shortlisted for the award as he says there are quite a number of allies all doing their part to eradicate homophobia and transphobia within the region who have a bigger profile and more resources than him.
