Wellbeing sessions with FACE

Wellbeing sessions with FACE

Have you ever thought about taking up a new hobby or learning some new skills? Face and Community Education (FACE) are offering some fun sessions across libraries in Knowsley as part of GEM (Great Emerging Marvellous) Places. This initiative is an Arts Council England funded project created to bring exciting and cultural activities to our libraries.

Floristry

If you love flowers and like the sound of floristry, why not take up the opportunity to learn the arts and skills of the craft from an expert florist? You don’t need to bring anything with you and you can take home whatever you make. All FACE asks for is a small donation which will be confirmed when you book.

Sessions take place at Stockbridge Village Library on Saturday 16 March from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and Halewood Library on Friday 22 March from 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Mindfulness

Mindfulness seems to be a buzzword at the moment but have you took the time to practice mindfulness and discover the health benefits for yourself? In these mindfulness sessions, you will find out how you can improve your health and wellbeing, and how to focus on the present moment.

Sessions take place at Prescot Library on Friday 29 March from 3pm to 5pm, and Huyton Library on Saturday 30 March from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Cake decoration

Decorating cakes can be just as enjoyable as eating them! Learn some cake decoration skills from a FACE tutor to wow your family and friends. Please bring along a cake to decorate and a minimum £2 donation. Remember not to wear jewellery so you can really get stuck in!

Sessions take place at Halewood Library on Friday 12 April from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and Prescot Library on Saturday 27 April from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Food and mood

To celebrate British Sandwich Week from 19 to 26 May 2019, FACE are organising a ‘food and mood’ workshop for you to learn about the fascinating ways that colourful food has an effect on our mood!

Sessions take place at Huyton Library on Saturday 11 May from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and Kirkby Library on Saturday 18 May from 10.30am to 12.30pm

Please note that these sessions are aimed at adults over 18 and the dates and times may change – details will be confirmed when you book.
